Vodnjan / Paradiz area
The local town of Vodnjan has an open air market on the first Saturday of each month and a number of good restaurants and cafes and bars.
The church tower is the highest in Istria and the church has some relics dating back a few hundred years.
Beaches can be found at Fazana or further along the coast. There is also a nice cove at Pjescana Uvala on the way into Pula which has one of the finest restaurants in Istria at the Hotel Valsabbion Pula has the monumental 1st century Amphitheatre which plays host to a lively eclectic programme of summer festivals and a Cathedral and museum. It hosts the film festival in July and Opera in August.
There is a golf driving range 2kms from Vodnjan and you can hire clubs.There is also an Aquarium to visit.
A trip to Rovinj which owes its survival to the contours of land and sea with the old town confined to a small peninsula presided over by a hilltop cathedral.
How to get here?
In southern Istria, 15 kilometres north of Pula, 15 kilometres from Pula airport.
Fly to Pula Airport and then hire a car and drive to Paradiz

Alternatively fly to Trieste ( Italy ) and drive south a very pleasant drive through Slovenia which takes between 2.5 to 3 hours
